Unlimited Design Possibilities
The VL4000 BeamWash and VL4000 Spot are the latest generation of Vari-Lite luminaires from Philips Vari-Lite designed to provide designers, rental companies, venues and productions around the world with a complement of fixtures offering unlimited design possibilities.
Both the VL4000 BeamWash and the VL4000 Spot are based on Philips lamp technology with user selectable output levels between Standard mode and the ultra-quiet Studio mode. In Standard mode, the VL4000 BeamWash produces a powerful 43,000 lumens, and the Studio mode outputs 35,000 lumens. With the VL4000 Spot, the Standard mode boasts 33,000 lumens while the Studio mode outputs 25,000 lumens.
We’ve packed all the features you’d typically expect from a multitude of automated luminaires into two lights. Using only one 10 inch front lens, the VL4000 BeamWash combines stunning wash capabilities with intense beam functionality and the ability to produce a powerful collimated shaft of light. VL4000 Spot luminaires ensure that your lighting system has all the profile features you need to create dynamic and functional lighting for any performance style. With low ambient noise, high lumen output, amazing optics and full feature sets anything is possible with Series 4000 luminaires.
Since introducing the modern automated light more than thirty years ago, Philips Vari-Lite has produced the most innovative spot and wash luminaires available. In fact, we develop luminaires so powerful, they provide more than just light. They’ve become a way to express your imagination; a way to make your vision a reality.
VL4000 BeamWash and VL4000 Spot Luminaires At A Glance
When used in Wash mode, the VL4000 BeamWash luminaire provides a 10 to 60 degree zoom range, and then by simply adjusting a DMX value, the VL4000 BeamWash can shift into an intense Beam luminaire with an amazing 4 to 40 degree beam angle, or a Shaft fixture for a powerful, collimated ray of light where the 4 degree beam angle can be further reduced to near zero.
The High resolution optics of the VL4000 Spot ensure remarkable center-to-edge focusing, an extremely flat and even field, as well as an unprecedented contrast ratio. A 5:1 zoom ratio covers an amazing 9 to 47 degrees without sacrificing output or clarity.
Series 4000 luminaires feature dual rotating gobo wheels, each with seven patterns plus open; and a remarkable collection of optimized gobo patterns for both aerial and projected imagery providing unlimited design possibilities.
The VL4000 BeamWash features a single animation wheel.
The VL4000 Spot contains dual animation wheels along with the Dichro*Fusion effect.
The VL4000 BeamWash achieves indexing and rotating beam shaping abilities through a rotating lenticular effect. The VL4000 Spot houses a four-blade framing shutter system with dual-plane focus abilities to precisely cut the beam and/or gobos. Both luminaires also include a high-speed iris for further beam manipulations.
The VL4000 BeamWash houses an independent 5-facet rotating step prism with variable horizontal/vertical motion control, and the VL4000 Spot includes an independent 3-facet rotating prism with divergence control which allows you to adjust the facet separation for image multiplication. Both prisms allow you to add graphic abilities into your designs when creating stunning aerials or projections.
The VL4000 BeamWash features variable beam focus abilities to soften the edges of gobos, spots, or color washes. The VL4000 Spot uses an independent variable frost system for beam diffusion and softening with various degrees of softening.
For Series 4000 luminaires, our engineers designed a new color system called the Infinity Color Mixing System to provide CYM color mixing, variable CTO color temperature correction and dual five-position color wheels. As a result, both luminaires have incredibly smooth color mixing whether operating in a slow fade or instant snap.
Proven 1200W MSR Gold FastFit lamps from Philips deliver exceptional brightness, uniform color temperature and a high CRI for Series 4000 luminaires.
In all Series 4000 luminaires, newly designed optical systems, reflectors, ballasts and lamp technology provide optimized output with unprecedented efficiency and quality.
In Studio mode, Series 4000 luminaires use a new cooling system to quietly draw air into the fixtures. While in Studio mode, the VL4000 BeamWash produces 35,000 lumens and the VL4000 Spot produces 25,000 lumens of output, both ideal for your television, theatrical or film productions.
New multi-point connections allow both Series 4000 luminaires to be hung at any angle while a pocketed safety cable attachment socket effortlessly ensures added safety.
New innovative electronics infrastructures and luminaire software enable the VL4000 BeamWash and VL4000 Spot to outperform all other luminaires on multiple accounts. Their battery-backed, full color LCD displays are designed to be both intuitive and easy-to-use.
Lighting designers, directors and engineers use Series 4000 luminaires in productions around the world because they combine all the desired lighting features into two easy-to-use and state-of-the-art automated luminaires.
The VL4000 BeamWash combines stunning wash capabilities, beam functionality and the power of a shaft luminaire into a single light without the need to change lenses.
The VL4000 Spot is the industry’s most fully featured automated spot luminaire with no compromises.
We provide equipment and services to the concert touring, theatre, television, film, cruise line, house-of-worship, and corporate industries, and our luminaires are available through a worldwide network of professional dealers.
