    Vari-Lite's in-person technical training, delivered by our product experts, is designed to give you the confidence and certifications to maintain, service and troubleshoot our products.

     

    On-stage or in-studio, our advanced luminaires, digital dimming equipment, and control systems provide you with the flexibility to design and create the desired effects and emotions for a wide range of applications.

     

    Whether luminaire service training or full Factory Certified Technical Training, Systems, our goal is to provide the training you need.

    TECHNICAL SERVICE TRAINING, LUMINAIRES – USA

    A comprehensive, 4 day training course for the entire Vari-Lite product line.

     

    Certification: upon successful completion of this class, technicians will be examined and those successful will be certified to perform Warranty Service on all Vari-Lite Luminaires. The class is extremely hands-on. All fixture types will be disassembled to the sub-assembly level. Maintenance and troubleshooting techniques will also be covered.

    NEO SERIES CONSOLE CERTIFICATION PROGRAM

     

    Region: Global

    Location: Online initially, followed by 2 days on location (TBC)

    Format: Bespoke

    Duration: 2 days (3 sessions)

    This course is required for anyone wanting to provide Neo console training on a project that contains purchased training; this will provide more consistent and higher-level education to our systems customers. This multi-part class covers all basic training needed to meet the requirements to provide Neo console training. The 3 parts are Neo Software Training (4 hours), Neo X Series Console Commissioning (3 hours), and Neo Compact 10 Console Commissioning (3 hours). Each session will be tested and a passing grade is required. The last step for successful completion of the course is a check ride to validate the attendees ability as a console trainer.

     

    Requirements: This program is a requirement for Neo console trainers on projects with purchased training.

    FACTORY CERTIFIED TECHNICAL TRAINING (FCT), SYSTEMS

    This 5-day program is designed for dealer technicians or independent technicians (independents must be approved by Vari-Lite field service prior to enrollment) for the purpose of commissioning new systems.  The course covers startup, programming, and troubleshooting of our dimming and control equipment. Topics include: A21, R21, S21, C21ACE, networking nodes, and Vision.Net equipment.  Programs include PEGASUS, DimmerNet, StrandNet, Flash Magic, STM32 Cube Programmer, Designer Flash, Vision.Net, and C21 programming using Google Chrome. We also include basic NEO setup and programming to work with our systems.

     

    Requirements: Factory Certified System Technicians (FCTs) must return to the factory every two years to Returning FCT training to maintain active certification.

    FACTORY CERTIFIED TECHNICAL TRAINING (FCT), SYSTEMS - EMEA

    This 2-day course is designed for all staff at dealers who will answer calls from end users regarding existing systems. It includes basic troubleshooting for PL fixtures and provides an understanding of system functionality and troubleshooting. This introduces the equipment and how it works together so the dealer tech can answer client questions and have basic on-site skills.
     

    Requirements: This 2-day program is a requirement for all system product reps.

    RETURNING FACTORY CERTIFIED TECHNICAL TRAINING (RFCT), SYSTEMS

    This 3-day course is required every two years once a person passes the FCT course. This course covers advanced programming techniques, changes to existing equipment or new equipment released since the previous course, and includes a roundtable discussion with factory personnel to give the FCTs the ability to help improve existing equipment, change factory practices to improve FCT experience onsite, and also help guide development of new equipment and practices.o enquire about bespoke training please use the contact form at the base of the page.

    BEGINNER: This training class covers all basic operation for NEO consoles and is oriented toward new users that require the ability to light theatre, music events, dance, meetings, assemblies, church services, TV studios, and more. This course will get you up and running in no time. As this course occurs online, the user can acquire training for Neo X Series, Neo Compact 10, Neo Console, Neo PC, or the Neo Rack (Playback Controller).

     

    Beginner Prerequisite: Basic understanding of theatrical lighting concepts. However, no prior console experience is necessary.  

     

    INTERMEDIATE: This training class covers intermediate level operation for Neo consoles and focuses on LED and automated luminaire programming for theatrical based events. As this course occurs online, the user can acquire training for Neo X Series, Neo Compact 10, Neo Console, Neo PC, or the Neo Rack (Playback Controller).

     

    Intermediate Prerequisite: Neo Beginner Level Course.

    This 1 day program is designed for dealers, reps and independent techs to be trained to provide factory certified console training on the NEO family of consoles when console training is specified on system installation or console purchases. This course covers 3 basic areas:

     

    • Installation, setup and commissioning.
    • Programming the NEO family consoles. This includes terminology, patch, screen configuration, channel control for dimmers, LEDs and automated luminaires, recording of cues, groups, subs, and FX.
    • How to teach to program the NEO family consoles.

     

    Requirements: This program will be required for all NEO console dealers and reps to perform certified training.
